Parfums de Marly Althaïr is a premium, contemporary amber-gourmand fragrance launched in 2023. Created by perfumers Hamid Merati-Kashani and Ilias Ermenidis, this scent reimagines classic vanilla-centric compositions with a sophisticated, modern edge. It is celebrated for its deep warmth, long-lasting performance, and balanced sweetness that feels both incredibly cozy and distinctly majestic. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6]
The Olfactory Journey
The fragrance composition unfolds beautifully across three distinct layers: [1]
Top Notes: The opening delivers an invigorating rush of crisp Bergamot, vibrant Orange Blossom, and a warm blend of Cinnamon and Cardamom. This initial blast brings a rich spice-infused citrus freshness to the skin. [1, 2, 3, 4]
Heart Notes: At its core lies an exceptional overdose of rich Bourbon Vanilla—a premium direct descendant of the vanilla historically introduced to France under Louis XV. This creamy, authentic vanilla is paired with balsamic Elemi resin, adding depth, radiance, and complexity. [1, 2, 3]
Base Notes: The scent settles into an addictive, sweet, and woody dry-down. A delicious accord of Praline, Candied Almond, and Tonka Bean blends with sensual Musk, Ambroxan, and deep Guaiac Wood, projecting a powerhouse trail that lingers smoothly for hours. [1, 2, 3, 4]
Performance & Best Wear
Althaïr boasts impressive "beast-mode" longevity (typically lasting 8 to 12 hours on skin and days on fabric). While officially marketed for men, its beautiful, rounded, and sweet profile makes it highly popular as a unisex fragrance. It performs exceptionally well in cooler weather, making it an ideal signature scent for autumn and winter days or sophisticated evenings
